Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić said that the Government of Serbia will provide all possible assistance in the investigation the murder of the leader of the Citizens' Initiative of the SDP, Oliver Ivanović and that at this moment it is important that the killers be found.
"The only thing that is important at this moment is that the killers are found, that they are brought to justice and that those responsible for this crime are held accountable," Brnabić told Radio Free Europe.
She said that if Serbia is not allowed to participate in the investigation, it will launch its own, adding that she still hopes that Serbia will be allowed to participate in the investigation.
"We are waiting for a response from the competent institutions, but we will definitely provide all the help and support in solving this terrible crime," said Ana Brnabić.
She said that as the president of the Government of Serbia, she is pained, which she will discuss with Brussels, by the deafening silence and threats that the KLA can be activated again just because Pristina needs to fulfill something that was before their international agreement, the agreement, about the establishment Court for war crimes.
According to her, things culminated in the murder of Ivanovic, which is the hardest on his family.
"But this murder is the most terrible attack on Serbia, on everything that Serbia has done in the last few years to normalize relations with Pristina. And on the signing of the Brussels Agreement and on its full implementation," said Ana Brnabić.
Asked to what extent the atmosphere before the local elections in Kosovo, including the statements "who is not with Srpski list, is working against the interests of Serbia" could have contributed to such a tragic event and whether the atmosphere of a political struggle in which no means are chosen can influence such a thing happened, Ana Brnabić said that it was "terrible to say".
"That it is one thing whether you are political dissenters, political opponents and whether you want to kill someone or see someone dead. It is terrible to put an equal sign between such things. It is terrible to me that such things are being done in Serbia today. Such accusations are completely clearly and unequivocally placed on the President of the Republic and the Government of the Republic of Serbia. We were not enemies with Oliver Ivanovic. We were political dissenters. But the Government of the Republic of Serbia also bore the costs of Mr. Oliver Ivanovic's defense," said Ana Brnabić .
Speaking about the continuation of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, Ana Brnabić said that it is too early and she is too under the impression to talk about the continuation of the dialogue that was interrupted yesterday after the news of the murder of Ivanovic.
