The team, it is added, is maximally engaged in processing all data related to the murder of Ivanovic.
All activities performed by the Kosovo Police are coordinated and carried out under the jurisdiction of the Basic Prosecutor's Office in Mitrovica.
Also, in parallel with the investigative actions of the Kosovo Police, certain measures were taken to increase the level of security, including the increased presence of police officers at several locations identified as sensitive in order to prevent any incident.
The Kosovo Police continues to call for the cooperation of all citizens and thanks everyone for the information that has been provided to the police so far
"We are now in the process of analyzing all the evidence collected so far. In particular, we are extracting, analyzing and evaluating the video footage of the security cameras that were near the place of the murder and other material evidence," the Kosovo Police said in a statement.
The investigation into the murder of Ivanovic entered the second phase: The material from the crime scene is being analyzed
The Kosovo police have started the second phase of the investigation into the murder of Oliver Ivanovic, said today the deputy director of the Kosovo police for North Mitrovica, Besim Hoti.
He told the Pristina media that the investigation into the murder of Ivanovic "entered the second phase", that is, that experts from different fields have begun to analyze the material found at the scene of the crime.
The Kosovo police previously downloaded the video from the security cameras located on the house where the Civic Initiative "Serbia, Democracy, Justice" is headquartered, and in front of which Oliver Ivanovic was killed yesterday, the Beta agency in the Kosovo police was told.
According to the regional head of operations of the Kosovo Police, Željko Bojić, the police removed the video from the security cameras and sent all the material, as well as the material collected during the investigation, to Pristina for further processing.
The cameras were positioned in such a way that there is a possibility that they recorded the moment when Oliver Ivanovic was shot at around 8.15:XNUMX yesterday.
"Blic" previously, referring to unnamed sources, wrote that on the party premises of the Citizens' Initiative "Serbia, Democracy, Justice" in Kosovska Mitrovica, there are two video surveillance cameras that, most likely, recorded the moment when Oliver Ivanovic killed.
Not far from there, a little more than one kilometer, the police found a burning Opel Astra vehicle with which the killer, most likely, drove away in an unknown direction, the newspaper said.
A burned car was found near the northern Kosovo settlement of Zvecan, which according to BIRN sources was used by Ivanovic's assassins. "All measures have been taken, the police are on the ground and we are looking for the perpetrator. We have certain clues that have been sent for expert examination," said the regional commander of the Kosovo Police, Željko Bojić.
According to Blic, the police are still determining the motives behind Ivanović's liquidation. What is known is that he was killed by five shots.
" He had five large wounds in the chest area, in the upper part. The police found four shell casings. He was killed with a "long nine", a source from the investigation told Blic.
Ivanovic was killed while entering the premises of his party.
Funeral on Thursday
The coffin with the body of the murdered Ivanovic left Kosovska Mitrovica for Belgrade, where it will be buried tomorrow at the New Cemetery in the alley of meritorious citizens.
The coffin with the body was escorted through the main street of Mitrovica by thousands of citizens who did not hide their sadness and tears.
Bishop Teodosije of Raško Prizren led the funeral procession with the clergy of the diocese and served the funeral in the premises of GI SDP and at the exit from the city where Ivanović's body was escorted.
GI SDP official Ksenija Božović said that his family and associates expect everyone - Belgrade, Pristina and the international community - to find the perpetrator of that heinous murder.
"Thank you to everyone who came to pay respects and see our leader off, thank you to those who didn't come. Even after three and a half years spent in prison, he waited to be killed on the way to his workplace," said Božović.
She said that Oliver Ivanovic never wanted to leave the territory of Kosovo and Metohija.
"He visited even the most remote villages, dissuaded Serbs from thinking of moving, and today we are sending him off to Belgrade in a coffin," Božović said.
Oliver Ivanovic will be buried tomorrow at 12.30:XNUMX at the New Cemetery in Belgrade in the alley of meritorious citizens.
He was killed yesterday around 8.15:XNUMX with six bullets while entering the premises of the party where he worked. An autopsy revealed that death was instantaneous and the wounds fatal.
