Tahiri: Only Kosovo institutions are competent to investigate the murder of Ivanovic

The Minister of Justice of Kosovo Abeljad Tahiri said tonight that the investigation into the murder of the leader of the Civic Initiative "Serbia, Democracy, Justice" Oliver Ivanovic will be conducted only by the institutions of Kosovo.

"That belongs only to the institutions of Kosovo," said Tahiri.

After the statement of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, that he will ask UNMIK and EULEX to include representatives of Serbian institutions in the investigation, Tahiri told the portal gazetaexpress.com that all information that can help in elucidating the murder, whether from citizens, Albanians or Serbs, is welcome, but not inclusion in the investigation.

He said that so far there is no information that EULEX has received an official request from the government or other institutions of Serbia to participate in the investigation into the murder of Ivanovic.

Ivanović died in the Health Center in the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica after an unknown person fired several shots at him this morning in front of the headquarters of the Civic Initiative SDP.
