PSG leader Saša Janković said today that the murder of Oliver Ivanovic is a difficult moment for Serbia and called on the citizens for peace and composure. He said that a lot of things need to change in Serbia, because here "we look at each other like beasts", writes "Blic".
Jankovic said that the political regime has canceled all borders and that "we must not be each other's blood enemies."
"We call on everyone to put an end to this conflict. So much poison has been poured into Serbia that we see each other as beasts. Political opponents must not declare themselves traitors and foreign mercenaries," said Janković.
At a joint press conference with Dragan Đilas, Vuk Jeremic and Janko Veselinović, Janković said that he is obliged to speak about what preceded all of this because of his debt to Oliver Ivanović and because things like this would not happen again.
"He lived in the most difficult part of Europe, he stayed in Kosovo, he was brought to a trial that we all know was not fair. When he came out to defend himself, he defended himself from Kosovo and stayed there when it was the most difficult. He participated in the elections, believing that the Serbian people should have a dignified framework for life and work," said Janković.
Janković added that, however, not everyone saw him that way.
"The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija dared to say that Oliver Ivanovic's vote is a vote for breaking Serbian unity, a vote against preserving the state connection with Serbian institutions in Kosovo. The president of the Serbian List said that Oliver is pathologically narcissistic and that he is building his program on the paranoid belief that someone is threatening. I'd better not read everything else," said Jankovic.
Janković reminded that in the last interview, Ivanovic talked about setting fire to 50 cars, as well as that there are criminal structures connected to politics in which panicky fear reigns.
"He also talked about the support of the Government of Serbia for one political party and the demonization of all the others. That must stop. If we can guarantee something, when we ask, the perpetrators of such things will be brought to justice," said Janković.
Janković also said that "we are entering the last phase of this regime, the repressive phase, but none of us, including this regime, need this".
"Whoever did this, and we don't know who it is, is working against the interests of Serbs and Serbia and the Albanian people and everyone else. Resist! This kind of conflict in Serbia must stop," Janković said, reports "Blic".
