Prime Minister Ana Brnabić announced that tomorrow (Tuesday, January 19) "mass" vaccination of citizens against the coronavirus will begin in Serbia.
In Ubu, where she visited the renovated "Milan Munjas" Primary School, she stated that starting tomorrow, educators, members of the army and police, as well as journalists, will be vaccinated.
"We have already started inviting people who have expressed interest to be vaccinated. Please register as many as possible, the faster and more efficiently we do this, the faster we will return to normal life," the Prime Minister said, as reported by the Government of Serbia.
She assessed that the vaccination registration system through the eGovernment portal works "absolutely perfectly" and appealed to educators to register as many as possible in view of the continuation of the school year.
"It is extremely important that we all do everything in our power to ensure that children go to school as long as possible. It is especially important for the youngest primary school children from the first to the fourth grade, to be with their teachers, to socialize, socialize and acquire work habits. That's why we made the decision to start classes again after the winter break," said the Prime Minister of Serbia.
Stating that there is an "extremely good" system for monitoring newly infected patients, she announced that authorities in cooperation with teams from the Institute of Public Health of Serbia will monitor the number of newly infected students, teachers and non-teaching staff in schools every day.
"We will provide them with all the necessary support so that classes last as normally and as long as possible," said the Prime Minister.
