The first Russian vaccines arrived in North Macedonia, 200.000 doses were ordered

The first contingent of 3.000 Russian "Sputnik v" vaccines against covid 19, out of the 200.000 doses ordered, arrived in North Macedonia today.

The delivery arrived on a regular "Air Serbia" flight, and was welcomed at the "Skopje" International Airport by the Minister of Health of North Macedonia, Venko Filipče, and the Russian Ambassador, Sergej Bazdnikin.

Filipče told the journalists that this first dose of 3.000 will ensure the continuity of the started immunization and added that intensive communication will be extended in the coming days to organize the dynamics of the arrival of the following amounts.

"A total of 200.000 doses were ordered. These are vaccines that are different in terms of vaccination and revaccination, which means that all these 3.000 doses will be used for the first vaccine," said the Minister of Health of North Macedonia.

In North Macedonia, on February 17, vaccination of the first priority group, which includes health workers in covid centers, began with "Pfizer" vaccines, which arrived as a donation from Serbia.

With the 8.000 doses received, more than 3.500 medical workers have been vaccinated so far.
