The Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, said that everything except grocery stores, pharmacies and gas stations will be closed from Wednesday to Monday.

Brnabić said after the session of the republic's Crisis Staff for the suppression of the coronavirus epidemic that there will be no curfew.

As she stated, those measures are a compromise solution because the medical part of the Crisis Staff requested the closure for 14 days.

"Everything is closing from tonight, so we'll see from Monday. Only grocery stores, pharmacies, gas stations, everything necessary for a normal life will be open," said Brnabić.

She added that state institutions continue to work, as well as banks and post offices.

Brnabić also said that there was a long discussion in an attempt to find a balance between three things - the protection of healthcare workers, jobs and support for the economy and mental health of the nation.

She announced an increase in testing capacity, as well as testing at border crossings.

Also, she said that kindergartens continue to work, with maximum caution.

She announced that the lower classes of elementary schools will most likely switch to online classes from Monday.
