Đilas: The entire opposition has 42 and SNS 38 percent of the support of citizens

The president of the Freedom and Justice Party (SSP), Dragan Đilas, said today that the "entire" opposition in Serbia has the support of 42 percent and the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) of 38 percent of citizens.

Commenting on the ratings of the parties published today by the research agency Ipsos, according to which the SNS has 58 percent of the votes and the SSP 3,8 percent, Đilas ironically said that it is a "great success" that the party he leads "passed the census for the first time" in a poll. .

"We have already sent an official protest to the Ipsos Evropa organization because of such research. Today SNS has 38 percent support, SPS seven, (Aleksandar) Šapić three percent and the entire opposition 42 percent," Đilas told N1 television.

He did not want to answer the question of how many citizens, according to that survey, support the SSP because, as he said, it would further bring bad relations within the opposition.

"I think everyone can see that the SSP is the strongest opposition party individually, but that's not important, it's how much all the parties, movements and organizations that are against this government have in total," said the leader of the SSP.

Asked about the divisions in the opposition regarding the form in which they will participate in the continuation of the dialogue with the authorities on election conditions, Đilas said that all opposition parties have the same demands towards the authorities, but that the way in which they will fight to achieve those demands is not the same.

"We have one group that advocates for two negotiators on behalf of the entire opposition, while our position is different. For me, inter-party dialogue implies the presence of the parties," said the SSP leader.

He assessed that the "big question" is when the dialogue with the mediation of the European Parliament will continue due to, as he said, the uncertainty surrounding the situation with the corona virus epidemic.
