Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić spoke by phone today with the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borel, about the latest tensions between Belgrade and Pristina and the situation in the north of Kosovo.
Borel called for patience, preservation of peace and continuation of the dialogue in Brussels, announced Vučić's cabinet.
Vučić stated that Serbia will continue to respect all agreements it has signed and all international legal regulations, according to the announcement.
He added, as stated, that Serbia will continue to support regional peace and stability "despite the irresponsible, frivolous and criminal behavior of the Pristina authorities."
Vučić also spoke by phone with Jens Stoltenberg today regarding, as the NATO Secretary General stated, the worrying situation in the north of Kosovo.
As announced by the Presidency, Vučić pointed out that Serbia has not violated either the Brussels Agreement or Resolution 1244 with absolutely nothing, not a single move, nor has it threatened the preservation of peace in any way.
"The complete occupation by armored vehicles of the north of Kosovo and Metohija, carried out by Pristina, has been going on for seven days, and everyone in the international community is 'cryingly silent'," said the President of Serbia, according to the announcement.
Vučić pointed out that everyone is "suddenly worried when they see Serbian helicopters and airplanes on the territory of central Serbia, because I guess they shouldn't exist or shouldn't be allowed to fly" until Kosovo Prime Minister Aljbin Kurti or someone from the international community approves it.
Vučić expressed his gratitude to NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg for his correct attitude and desire to listen to the Serbian side, and at the end of the conversation he asked what norm and international regulation Serbia violated, today, yesterday or at any time.
"Serbia respects all international agreements it has signed. Serbia will always behave responsibly and seriously, but Serbia still asks when the formation of the Union of Serbian Municipalities will start and when Kurti's armored units will be withdrawn from the north of Kosovo and Metohija," said Vučić.
The two interlocutors agreed to stay in constant contact due to the necessity of preserving peace and stability in the entire region.
At the Jarinje and Brnjak crossings in the north of Kosovo, special forces of the Kosovo Police have been present for seven days in order to implement Pristina's decision to confiscate and replace Serbian license plates.
As a result, numerous Serbs are blocking the roads to the Jarinje and Brnjak crossings, which can only be crossed on foot.
The planes of the Serbian Army have been flying over the area around the Jarinje crossing for days.
Serbian Defense Minister Nebojša Stefanović, together with Chief of General Staff Milan Mojsilović and Russian Ambassador to Belgrade Aleksandar Bocan-Harčenko, visited the units in the "Stefan Nemanja" barracks in Raška and in the Rudnica base, which are in a state of heightened combat readiness.
