The action of the Kosovo police in North Mitrovica is underway, and a large number of Serbs have gathered on the streets. As reported by the Kosovo media, an arrest operation is underway by units from Pristina, sirens have been heard continuously since nine o'clock, and one vehicle has been set on fire.
As the reporter of the Kosovo online portal reported earlier, an action by the Kosovo Police is currently underway in North Mitrovica, using stun grenades and tear gas, and several hundred citizens have blocked several streets and sirens are being sounded. According to unofficial information, a similar raid is currently taking place in Zvečan.
After members of the Kosovo police intervened with tear gas and shock bombs against the gathered citizens, members of the ROSU arrived in North Mitrovica from the southern part of the city.
As can be seen in some of the videos, a car was set on fire at the intersection between the "Mihailo Petrović Alas" Secondary Technical School and Bosniak Mahala in Kosovska Mitrovica.
One person shot in Zvečana
As the media has unofficially learned, one person was shot and he is currently in serious condition, the media has unofficially learned.
"The injury was caused by a firearm, he was shot in the chest area. His scapula and rib were injured, we are getting ready for the operating room to remove the bullet. He is in intensive care and is in serious condition," surgeon Zlatan Elek, director of KBC Kosovska Mitrovica, told us.

In the meantime, members of the Kosovo Police began to withdraw from Zvečani, and live ammunition casings were visible on the road, reports Kosovo Online.
Danger sirens were heard in Kosovska Mitrovica this morning, and the Kosovo police announced that it was about "preventing the smuggling of goods".
The sirens have since stopped, but it's still tense. It is tense on the bridge over the Ibar in the municipality of Zvečan, where the Kosovo police are trying to pass towards the city center, and the citizens are trying to stop them.
At one point, the police used tear gas to disperse the crowd. As KoSSev writes, shock bombs were also heard.

RTS reports that members of the Kosovo police for economic crime have closed several shops in the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica and surrounding towns.
"They break into warehouses, shops, pharmacies are not working, they carry out the action on their own and without consultation and preparation with the police in the northern part of Mitrovica", says RTS, referring to the testimonies and claims of eyewitnesses.
Ambulances and firefighters were on the streets, and citizens gathered in the city center.
The intersection near the Technical School is blocked.
Kosovo Police: Fight against smuggling of goods
In the meantime, the Kosovo police announced that they started a police operation in the early hours of the morning "in order to realize the strategic goals of preventing criminal acts, especially in the fight against the smuggling of goods."
The announcement states that the action is being carried out in the region of Pristina, Peja, South Mitrovica and North Mitrovica.
"All police actions are carried out in coordination with the competent prosecutor's offices and courts, and refer to checks and searches at different locations such as houses, residential, business premises, warehouses... As a result of intensive actions and professional actions of the Kosovo police and customs, until Now various goods have been confiscated that serve as material evidence," the announcement reads.
