The Prime Minister of North Macedonia and SDSM leader Zoran Zaev said that he will remain in that position in order to help maintain the parliamentary majority and possibly increase it.
Zaev resigned after the results of the local elections on October 31.
After the session of the Main and Executive Board of the SDSM, he said that he proposed to postpone the resignation, as well as that he was committed to the process of preserving the parliamentary majority.
"I have nothing else to add, because the President of the Committee announced the decisions and answered all the questions. It is important that the country does not return to the past of quarrels both at home and abroad, to jeopardize the European integration process. Of course, it is important because we are still in at the time of the pandemic, the energy crisis. The responsibility of every citizen, but also of politicians, still exists," said Zaev, Telma portal reports.
He also said that he hopes that the parliamentary democratic majority will stabilize, primarily because it is oriented towards the Euro-Atlantic path and a multi-ethnic society, as well as towards maintaining good neighborly relations and positive reforms.
"The days are ahead of us, we will see," said Zaev.
