An employee of the Slovenian prosecutor's office is suspected of providing information to bars

The main suspect for leaking information to the Slovenian "branch" of the Kavačka clan is the secretary of the specialized state prosecutor's office. As reported by Večer, she passed on sensitive information about the course of the investigation led by the NPU and directed by the specialized state prosecutor's office to her partner, who, according to N1's knowledge, is connected to the criminal underworld.

As reported by Večer, through her partner she gave secret information about important house search warrants to important members of the clan and thus helped at least two avoid arrest. It is not yet known whether the Kavački clan had any other informants in the state authorities in Slovenia. This was recently checked several times by the parliamentary commission for the supervision of intelligence and security services, the director of the NPU Petra Glah Lazar confirmed to the commission last Sunday that there are no moles in the NPU.

An employee of the prosecution who had access to secret information about warrants issued for house searches and covert investigative actions was arrested, reports Vecer.

Večer also states that the employee allegedly passed on confidential information to important members of the clan and that she worked on the registry at the prosecutor's office and remains in police custody, while her partner was allegedly released by the police.

The suspected employee allegedly passed the information on to her partner, who then passed it on to individuals from the criminal underworld, who, due to the prosecution's betrayal, managed to prepare for the police attack or even hide from it, they say.

With her help, it is suspected that at least two important members of the criminal group, who are among the accused but are still on the run, escaped police arrest in May this year. They are Luka Arapović and Blaž Kadivec, Večer reports.

The Slovenian police, in cooperation with foreign security authorities, stood in the way of the Kavak clan, when the criminals of the National Investigation Service (NPU) together with the police officers of the Police Department of Ljubljana, Kranj, Maribor and Koper conducted 23 searches of houses, arrested 48 people, including 25 Slovenians. and 23 foreign nationals.

On May 15, the investigating judge ordered the detention of six people who were allegedly close to the top of the Kava clan, and five are still being sought.

In the case of the Kavački clan, 24 people were accused, and prosecutor Jože Levašič wrote a 490-page indictment against them, according to Večer. Among the accused, there is no man who decided to help the police with information, so he got a new identity and will appear as a witness.

Among other things, writes Večer, he explained to the police exactly how that criminal group functions, and he also handed them a lot of evidence about drug trafficking.

He decided to cooperate with the police after consulting with a lawyer and after the group started asking him to organize or even carry out murders, i.e. to kill someone on their orders or to support those who would come to liquidate someone, Vecer learns.

He also told the investigators that one of the accused knew someone in the NPU who gave him confidential information about police investigations. According to the informant, based on this intervention, the aforementioned Kadivec and Arapović allegedly fled abroad. The leak of confidential information from the NPU was confirmed by another of the accused at the hearing before the investigating judge, Večer says.

In connection with the leaking of information, an internal security procedure is ongoing in the NPU, which has not yet been completed.
