The Assembly of North Macedonia did not vote on confidence in the Government, which was requested by the opposition, due to the lack of a quorum.
Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi explained late last night that due to the lack of quorum, the agenda could not be adopted and the debate could not be opened for a vote of confidence in the Government.
"We conclude that the Government has not been voted no-confidence, and based on that, it continues to work in full composition and with the obligations it has," said Dzaferi, reports the MIA agency.
Jaferi scheduled the session after the opposition VMRO-DPMNE launched an initiative for a vote of no confidence in the Government.
The opposition remained "short" by one vote to the quorum that would enable a vote of confidence in Zoran Zaev's government, because during the day the deputy of Besa Kastriot Redžepi "disappeared".
The leader of the opposition VMRO-DPMNE, Hristijan Mickoski, accused the ruling coalition of creating chaos and circus from the Assembly session.
Opposition MPs stated that early elections are the only solution to the political crisis.
Zaev announced his resignation from the post of prime minister and SDSM leader after the ruling coalition's poor results in local elections on October 31.
After that announcement, the ruling coalition assessed that essentially nothing would change, that the two parties would appoint a new president and ministers.
