The police of North Macedonia announced today that they cut the international channel for the transport of drugs from Kosovo to North Macedonia and that in that action they seized about 200 kilograms of marijuana and arrested six people, Macedonian and Kosovo citizens.
The spokeswoman for the Ministry of the Interior of North Macedonia, Suzana Pranjić Talevska, said that the value of the drugs found in two cars, which the police stopped on the highway "Prijateljstvo", was estimated at around 600.000 euros.
She specified that 51 packages of marijuana were found in the Opel Zafira car driven by a 55-year-old man from Skopje, and during the control of the BMW, driven by a 30-year-old man from Skopje, black bags with a total of 116 packages of marijuana were found.
As she pointed out, in yesterday's operation on the "Friendship" highway, near a gas station, the police also stopped two cars with four men who were engaged in securing the transport of that drug.
A "Mercedes" driven by a 36-year-old man from Skopje with a Kosovar citizen as a passenger and a "mini-cooper" in which there were two Skopje citizens, aged 24 and 36, were stopped near the pump, the spokeswoman for the MUP of North Macedonia stated at a conference for journalists.
Pranjić Talevska said that the police, in consultation with the prosecutor and with the order of the judge for the preliminary proceedings, searched the houses of BR, the driver of the BMW with drugs and EA, who was accompanying him.
29 packages with marijuana, a bag with marijuana, a phantom, a digital scale and 11 bullets were found with the driver of the BMW, while a 9 mm signal pistol and a red flag pistol with 10 bullets in the frame, as well as a BMW imported from Kosovo, were found with EA. without appropriate documentation, which was confiscated for verification.
