Ten cases of monkeypox have been registered in Serbia, all infected men

To date, 10 confirmed cases of monkeypox have been registered in Serbia, the Institute for Public Health "Dr. Milan Jovanović Batut" announced.

Eight were registered in the Belgrade area, and two in Vojvodina, according to the "Batuta" website.

All cases were registered among men aged 27 to 44, transmissions H1.

"Batut" states that so far 75 cases of monkeypox have been reported in 16.000 countries, with five deaths.

According to the World Health Organization, the epidemic is concentrated among men who have sex with men, especially those with multiple sexual partners.

Symptoms usually include high body temperature, intense headache, muscle aches, back pain, weakness, lack of energy, swollen lymph glands, most often in the neck, underarms and groin, as well as skin rashes.

The rash usually begins within one to three days of the onset of fever and may be concentrated on the face, palms, and soles.
