Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti in Brussels rejected every idea that the European Union and the United States of America have put forward so far. The EU is really frustrated, wrote on Twitter the former special envoy of the US President for negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina, Richard Grenell.
Two rounds of dialogue were held in Brussels between Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Kurti with EU officials Jozep Borelja and Miroslav Lajčak, as well as two rounds of separate bilateral meetings with European mediators.
Grenel added that "EU representatives asked Kurti and Vučić to stay longer in order to continue trying" in order to reach an agreement. N1.
Vučić previously said that the meeting was difficult and that he could not say that it was successfully completed.
"A difficult day is behind us, it was a difficult day for all the citizens of Serbia, for our entire country, and I cannot say that it has ended successfully, but I refrain from any other comments, because I hope and want to believe that it is possible that by some miracle we can reach some sort of compromise solution in the days ahead, and that is why I will continue to fight for peace and stability," said Vučić.
The high representative of the EU for foreign policy and security, Jozep Borelj, said after the meeting with Vučić and Kurti that "unfortunately, no agreement was reached, but that is not the end of the story".
"The two sides have agreed that the process must continue and the conversation will continue in the following days, because there is still time until September 1 - I am not giving up," Borelj pointed out.
