The President of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, said that the countries of the Western Balkans are at risk of instability due to the war in Ukraine.
Reuters reports that he called for the rapid accession of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the European Union and NATO.
Pahor said at the Bled Strategic Forum that Brussels must reach a consensus for the integration of the Western Balkans and that it should convince Serbia to choose the path to the EU instead of an alliance with China and Russia, and that this is a move that will benefit BiH and Kosovo.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia, Tanja Fajon, emphasized at the forum that no one wants "another iron curtain in Europe".
"The decades-old process of European unification has been stopped by the Ukrainian conflict, and many European countries are unable to cope with the consequences of the crisis," Fajon added.
