The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, said that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia "within 96 hours before the Europride event" will make a decision, after which the organizers of the event will have the possibility of a legal remedy.
"The security situation related to the Parade event, in accordance with the Constitution of Serbia and the laws of Serbia, making a decision on the eventual disallowance of gatherings in a closed space in accordance with that after analysis at the session of the Ministry of Interior of Serbia, and 96 hours before the gathering, will make a decision. After that, the organizers have administrative means, an administrative dispute before the court," said Vučić.
Vučić also said that the parade will not be banned "because of monkeypox", he reports N1.
"I'm sorry that homosexuals, we are not going to play and make fun of citizens, to invent nonsense, to ban because of monkeypox, to try to humiliate people who are our brothers and sisters," he said.
The situation, he says, is difficult for us.
"Because we don't want to see any conflicts, there could be bigger riots where our force would have to be bigger, and those are things we can avoid. Those people can gather at various conferences, singing, dancing, and everything else the Serbian MUP will inform them and the citizens of Serbia in time," said Vučić.
