Dejan Pantić from North Mitrovica was sentenced to one month's detention, his lawyer Srđan Mitrović told N1 and announced an appeal against the court's decision made at the prosecutor's request.
Mitrović says that Pantić is not receiving therapy, and that he had a stent installed a few months ago.
Dejan Pantić is a former member of the police, and he resigned from that service last month, when all policemen of Serbian nationality in the north of Kosovo did.
He was arrested on Saturday at the Jarinje checkpoint, accused of participating in the organization and attack on the police a few days ago.
Due to the arrest of Pantić, Serbs in the north of Kosovo erected barricades in several locations on the same day, demanding his release and the release of another compatriot arrested the day before. Lawyer Srđan Mitrović told Kosovo Online earlier that the prosecutor asked for a detention measure of 30 days.
"Dejan is in a facility in Jarinj, he looks tired, he complained to me that he slept on a chair," Mitrović said.
He adds that the prosecutor's request for a one-month detention measure for the arrested Pantić is against the law, because there was no explanation for the measure itself.
