SDP and HDZ elected the president of the Federation of BiH themselves, SDA claims that this is unconstitutional

Members of the leadership of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Lidija Bradara (HDZ BiH) and Igor Stojanović (SDP) agreed today in Sarajevo that she will be the president of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Stojanović one of the vice-presidents, and to send that proposal to the House of Representatives of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation.

Elected member of the leadership of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Refik Lendo from the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) stated that it was the decision of Bradara and Stojanović to appoint the president of Bosnia and Herzegovina without agreement with him. of the entity is unconstitutional, unenforceable and unacceptable, because, as he assessed, it completely ignores the will of the elected representatives of the Bosniak people.

"This is an unconstitutional and unenforceable decision, because two candidates for president/vice president of the FBiH cannot make a decision on the appointment of the president without agreement with the third, given that the FBiH Constitution clearly states that this decision is made by agreement of all three elected candidates." Lendo stated.

The president and two vice-presidents of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina are elected indirectly, in the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament, and until now it was the practice for the president to be from the Croat people, and the two vice-presidents from the Bosniak and Serb people, as well as for the prime minister of that BiH. of the entity will be a Bosniak.

Bradara and Stojanović announced that in the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH, they will propose the leader of the SDP, Nermin Nikšić, as the Prime Minister of BiH. entities.

SDA leader Bakir Izetbegović sent a letter to SDP leaders Nermin Nikšić and HDZ BiH Dragan Čović in which he stated that the election of the leadership of the Federation of BiH Refik Lenda, Lidija Bradara and Igor Stojanović created the conditions for the formation of a new Government of the Federation of BiH.

"The presidents/vice presidents from the ranks of the SDA, HDZ and SDP form the top of the executive power in the FBiH and that is a fact that cannot be changed by anything. That is why these three parties have the right, but also the obligation, to form the complete government in the FBiH, which includes the election of the president and two vice-presidents of the Federation, as well as the entire Government of the Federation," Izetbegović pointed out in the letter.

Izetbegović believes that the actions of SDP and HDZ BiH lead to "the continuation of the blockade in the Federation of BiH, for which those who refuse a political agreement in accordance with the Constitution of that BiH entity will be responsible."

The HDZ BiH and the parties gathered around the pro-Bosnian coalition "Trojka" do not want the SDA in the new Government of the Federation of BiH. Those parties have a majority in the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH, but not in the House of Peoples, where the SDA has the most delegates and the "control package".
