Television N1 BiH, which operates within the United Media company, received a license for national broadcasting from the regulatory authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
As part of the digitization of the television broadcasting market, the Regulatory Agency for Communications of Bosnia and Herzegovina conducted a public competition where N1 BiH received a license to broadcast TV programs via digital terrestrial signal throughout the country.
"The fact that N1 will be available to all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina is great news, both for us and for them. N1 has been proving for years that it works in the public interest, that it is a reliable source of accurate and verified information, and now that program will finally be visible on territory of the whole country. Due to its quality, the N1 program has long deserved a national license, just as it is the case in Serbia and Croatia. We are witnessing that the presence of professional media is important for the democratization and development of the whole society," said the executive director of United Media Aleksandra Subotić .
News director of N1 television in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Amir Zukić, says that he is proud that this television will reach the homes of all people in Bosnia and Herzegovina via the terrestrial digital broadcasting network.
"In these eight and a half years, as long as N1 television has been present on the media scene, we have received countless calls asking when everyone will be able to watch us. Finally, that time is coming. Freedom, independence, accuracy and timeliness remain the key guidelines of N1 in the production of 12 hours of live programming every day. No censorship and no compromises," emphasizes Zukić.
"We will continue to be always the first on the scene, report live from all locations, ask guests in the studio the most difficult questions, research and discover, and all this in order to enable the audience to be objectively, accurately and timely informed. On behalf of 100 employees of N1 BiH, I express my gratitude to all of you who continue to faithfully follow us, and we look forward to the fact that the audience of N1, thanks to digital broadcasting, will soon increase. We are your voice. Thank you for your trust," Zukić added.
As an informative cable channel, N1 has been in existence since 2014 and has profiled itself in the public eye as a television that citizens trust, as a professional, independent and objective media. This is proven by viewership measurements, according to which N1 is at the very top on all platforms on which it is available. According to a survey conducted by the Ipsos agency in April 2022, N1 is among the television stations most trusted by the audience in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Shows that have so far attracted a lot of viewers' attention and treated the most current topics of political, economic and cultural life in a professional, ethical and interesting way are the foundation of N1. In the coming period, N1 BiH will launch the documentary-investigative series "Under the Surface" in which they will additionally investigate the affairs that shake the BiH public and which will never have an epilogue.
Based on the license issued by RAK, all users in Bosnia and Herzegovina who have technical access (DVB-T2 signal) will be able to watch the N1 channel in Multiplex D at position 7.
With the acquisition of a national license, N1 will grow from a cross-border cable channel into a national broadcaster in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is one of the numerous television stations that operate within United Media, the leading media company in Southeast Europe. The portfolio of the group consists of more than 55 cable channels, six televisions with national frequency, 30 web portals, radio stations and printed publications. The company operates in eight countries and has 4.200 employees.
