On Monday, the Senate of the University of Sarajevo decided to revoke the master's degree of Sebija Izetbegović, the wife of the leader of the Democratic Action Party (SDA) Bakir Izetbegović, and a member of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly.
The rector of UNSA Rifat Škrijelj said that Izetbegović did not fulfill all the obligations at the postgraduate studies of the Faculty of Medicine in Sarajevo "in the manner and according to the procedure established by the regulations in the field of higher education that were in force at the time of obtaining the master's degree, that is, she did not fulfill the prescribed conditions for acquiring the appropriate professional title of Master of Science".
Sebija Izetbegović previously stated that she will respond to the summons of the court and the prosecution and that she will take her index to be checked, adding that she did not want to do it earlier for "fear that it will disappear or be destroyed".
She called the proceedings against her a "politically motivated manhunt" and announced a criminal complaint against UNSA Rector Rifat Škrijelj and members of the commission that checked her diploma, headed by the dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Muhamed Ajanović.
