North Macedonia's ambassador to the Czech Republic, Saško Todorovski, was recalled due to "weakness and irregularities in his work", said the head of diplomacy of North Macedonia, Bujar Osmani.
When asked what irregularities were found, Osmani said that, among other things, Todorovski falsely represented his wife as an attaché for culture and did not follow the instructions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"Irregularities in the execution of the mandate, non-functionality, he falsely represented his wife as a cultural attache and did not follow the instructions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for a long period of time. The procedure for his return takes several months," said Osmani at an online briefing with journalists.
The wife of the impeached ambassador Todorovski is Mirjana Najčevska, a professor at the "Ćirilo i Metodije" University in Skopje, a lawyer and human rights activist. His ambassadorial mandate in Prague began in March 2021.
