Russian Ambassador to Serbia Aleksandar Bochan-Kharchenko announced that the coincidence of the escalation of the situation in Kosovo with the protests in Belgrade is an "obvious pressure" on the Serbian leadership and that "the goal of the West is to change the politics of Serbia."
The vice president of the Freedom and Justice Party (SSP) in Serbia, Borko Stefanović, responded to this, and said that his statement was a rarely seen example of interference in the internal affairs of the country.
"Ambassador Harchenko certainly knows that it is neither correct nor diplomatically allowed to comment on the processes of change in our country, and that it depends exclusively on the citizens of Serbia, and not on any foreign official," Stefanović said, as quoted by SSP.
He also emphasized that Bocan-Harčenko's claim that mass gatherings of Serbian citizens against the violence and division created by the government were organized from outside and in connection with the attacks on Serbs in Kosovo is offensive and false.
As reported by N1, Bochan-Kharchenko said that "both the regime in Pristina and the Kiev regime in Ukraine are puppets, and for the West they are an instrument for policy implementation."
"Now is an interesting moment to analyze the situation, precisely because the moment of escalation in Kosovo coincides with the protests in Belgrade. Everything happens in a few days and we can only conclude that this is an obvious pressure on the leadership of Serbia, President Aleksandar Vučić and The government on all fronts. The first front is Kosovo, the second is Belgrade, or vice versa," said the Russian ambassador.
The West's goal or task is to change the politics of Serbia, the West needs two things, the recognition or support of Serbia with anti-Russian sanctions and of course the recognition of Kosovo, Bocan-Harchenko added.
According to him, "both have a broad and essential character or meaning for the West, we can say geopolitical, because the West cannot recognize and come to terms with the fact that Serbia, with its position against anti-Russian sanctions, does not allow the formation of an anti-Russian barriers in Eastern Europe".
Bocan-Harachenko said that "the West wants the recognition of Kosovo as a justification for its aggression, its moves, during the conflict in Kosovo and in general in the former Yugoslavia".
Commenting on the situation that Pristina is suffering some sanctions for the first time because of its actions, Bocan-Kharchenko emphasizes that this is hypocrisy and phariseeism.
"The fact that any moves by Pristina so openly and obviously remain unpunished is clear to everyone and this is a vulnerable place for the West, and for Brussels and Washington," he said and added that "the situation of non-participation of Serbs in elections and in government bodies is connected with by deceiving the Serbs and categorically refusing to form the ZSO, which would solve all these problems".
On the other hand, Stefanović states that Bocan-Harčenko shows that he does not understand that Serbia is a sovereign state whose citizens do not want conspiracy theories and lies like those of the XNUMXs.
"As if to insinuate that the citizens' protests are related to the attacks on Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija is the speech of our regime and other losers of historical developments, but that is by no means allowed to the ambassador of another country," says Stefanović.
He also said that Bocan-Harchenko can dream that Serbia is a Russian province.
"But that dream is not shared by the citizens of Serbia. It would be necessary for Ambassador Harchenko to remind himself of the Vienna Convention and be polite in his evaluations. The fact that he violated the Convention is a lesser harm than insulting the citizens of Serbia, who in grief expect an end to violence and division, and which did not happen whose puppet," concluded Stefanović.
