The head of Sjeverbački District, Bojan Šoralov, said that the Subotica police arrested two people who participated in today's armed conflict between smuggling groups in the forest in Makova's Week in Subotica.
He told the Beta agency that in the coming period, the police will secure all border settlements located near the Hungarian border.
Šoralov confirmed that three people were wounded in the conflict and were transported to the General Hospital in Subotica and are in intensive care.
He added that the police will intensify control of irregular migrants who are outside the Subotica Acceptance Center, as well as in the border zone, especially from Hajdukovo to Kelebija.
"We will continue to take all the necessary measures and actions in order to prevent the stay of irregular migrants in the border area near Subotica and in the area of the Subotica forests, as well as the removal of any informal camps that may have been built so far," said Šoralov.
He stated that he will insist with the competent authorities that such activities are carried out daily.
"Every day we will carry out actions and relocate irregular migrants to other reception centers in Serbia. Their number is drastically lower compared to last year, and the nervousness is increasing," he concluded.
