Parts of Croatia were again hit by a storm

A severe thunderstorm hit the area of ​​Istria and Kvarner, and then Zagreb, around 16 p.m. on Friday.

The wind brought down many trees and branches, and one person was injured in Novigrad, the competent services announced today.

Civil protection announced that they received several dozens of reports about the consequences of a strong storm in the area of ​​Kvarner and Istria, mostly about fallen trees, electric poles, damaged vehicles, problems at sea, power outages and large amounts of water on roads.

According to Civil Protection, at the container terminal in Rijeka, part of the crane fell from the ship that was moored to the shore, but no one was injured.

In a post on Twitter, Civil Protection stated that more than 300 reports from citizens had arrived about the consequences of the storm accompanied by heavy rain and wind in the area of ​​Zagreb and Zagreb County.

According to Croatian Radio and Television (HRT), the storm hit the west coast of Istria, especially Poreč and Novigrad, and heavy rain also fell in Zagreb.

A red warning has been issued for the areas of Rijeka, Karlovac, Gospić, Zagreb and Osijek. In other parts of Croatia, the orange warning is still in effect.

We remind you that three citizens and one firefighter died in a storm in Croatia on Wednesday, July 19, the likes of which has not been remembered for decades.

According to the records of the Ministry of Health, about two hundred people were injured.

There were 60 injured in Zagreb, ten of them seriously, 32 in Slavonski Brod, 23 in Nova Gradiška.
