The adaptation of the Sports Center "Boris Trajkovski" in Skopje for the Conference of the Ministerial Council of the Organization for European Security and Cooperation (OSCE) will cost up to 95 million denars (about 1,54 million euros), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia announced today.
As it is pointed out, this is the biggest international political event that has ever been organized in North Macedonia, which will be attended by about 70 ministers of foreign affairs of the OSCE participating countries.
It is noted that each OSCE presiding country organizes a Ministerial Council at the end of the year of its presidency, and it is emphasized that the adaptation of the "Boris Trajkovski" Sports Center facility must be carried out in compliance with the standards and security protocols of that international organization.
"For this purpose, appropriate estimates of the necessary works were made, which were approved by the OSCE headquarters, and which foresee a large volume of works determined by the technical specification in accordance with the organization's requirements," stated the statement of the ministry of the OSCE chairman Bujar Osmani.
It is stated that a total of four companies applied for the public procurement and that the contractor was chosen based on the lowest offered price, which is up to two and a half times lower than the third and fourth ranked companies.
"For the planned works (for internal adaptation and external decoration), a contract was concluded in the approximate amount of up to 95.000.000 denars, which will be used according to needs and the individual prices offered as the lowest for the performed works," reads the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia.
It is emphasized that North Macedonia's presidency of the OSCE "will be one of the lowest budget presidencies in the recent history" of that international organization.
"Our budget for the chairmanship of the OSCE will be the smallest compared to any other in the last 10 years," writes the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia, the country that chairs the OSCE this year.
