The largest Serbian party in Kosovo, Srpska lista, expressed its condolences to the families of the killed Serbs and the Kosovo police during the armed attack on the Kosovo police in the village of Banjska near Zvečan, on September 24, reports Radio Free Europe.
In yesterday's conflict between an armed group and the Kosovo police, policeman Afrim Bunjaku was killed, and several others were wounded. The Kosovo authorities announced that four suspected attackers were killed during the clashes in the monastery in Banjska.
"We are looking for an investigation into the murder of at least two Serbs, who were killed in cold blood even though they surrendered. We ask the international community why EULEX did not participate in the operation, but only the police of (Kosovo Prime Minister Aljbin) Kurti?", announced Srpska lista without citing evidence in support of this. claims.
This party, which has the support of official Belgrade, called for restraint and peace.
"In this regard, we urgently need KFOR and EULEX to be deployed in the north in order to prevent further escalation of the situation and political abuse of this tragic event," announced Srpska lista.
This reaction of the Serbian List comes after Kosovo's Interior Minister Dželal Svečlja and Police Chief Gazmend Hodža accused the vice president of this party, Milan Radoičić, of having organized and participated in the attack.
What happened in Banjska?
The Kosovo Police was attacked by a group of masked and armed persons yesterday in the early hours of the morning, after the law enforcement authorities tried to remove the barricades set up in Banjska and Zvečan.
As a result of the conflict, police officer Afrim Bunjaku was killed, and several others were injured.
The armed group then took refuge in the Banjska monastery, where they clashed with the Kosovo police.
The authorities announced that three of the attackers were killed, while on September 25 it was announced that the dead body of the second suspected attacker had been found.
Meanwhile, six people suspected of being linked to the armed group were arrested.
Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti described the armed attackers as "an organized professional unit that came to fight in Kosovo."
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said that the attackers were local Serbs from Kosovo, "who could no longer endure the terror of Aljbin Kurti".
Vučić condemned the murder of a Kosovo police officer and denied that Belgrade had anything to do with the attack.
A day after the conflict in the north, the situation in this area of Kosovo - populated mostly by Serbs - is calm, but access to the village of Banjska in the municipality of Zvečan is still closed by the Kosovo police.
The attack on the Kosovo police was condemned by the United States of America and the European Union.
