The beginning of the trial of Milorad Dodik, the president of Republika Srpska (RS), is scheduled for Monday, October 16, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) announced.
Dodik should then plead guilty, as should the acting director of the Official Gazette of the RS, Miloš Lukić.
The Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina filed an indictment against Dodik and Lukić for disobeying the decisions of Kristijan Šmit, whom political representatives from the RS do not consider a high representative and state that his appointment was not confirmed in the United Nations Security Council.
The lawyers of Dodik and Lukić stated in their objections that "the criminal offense for which Dodik is accused does not exist, because Šmit is illegal".
On October 9, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina rejected the lawyer's objections as unfounded, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed for Radio Free Europe.
The requests of the defense for the disqualification of judge Jasmine Dedović Ćosić were rejected twice, who confirmed the indictment and subsequently rejected the objections.
The National Assembly of the Republika Srpska adopted laws regarding the non-publication of the decisions of the High Representative and the non-application of the decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
High Representative Schmidt then made a decision on their annulment.
Dodik signed the decree on the entry into force of these laws, and Lukić published them in the Official Gazette of the RS.

When canceling the law of RS, Šmit also imposed changes to the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, according to which disobeying the decisions of the High Representative is a criminal offense.
The amended indictment against Dodik and Lukić was filed on August 24, and the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed it on September 11.
