The Belgrade Center for Security Policy (BCBP) awarded the "Lighthouse" award, established this year, to Aleksandar Obradović, a whistleblower who published documents "that revealed corruption and fraud" in the Public Enterprise "Krušik".
"With the intention of revealing, reminding and drawing attention to the true values of our society, and individuals who represent us as role models in our fight for a better and fairer society, a society free from fear, which is also the vision of the Belgrade Center for Security Policy, this year we established the 'Lighthouse' award with the aim of awarding an award for exceptional courage to individuals, women and men, in their professional tasks in the fields of security and foreign policy," the statement said.
The "Lighthouse" award is a symbol of "the destination we need to reach and the path we need to cross in order to become better as individuals and as a society," the statement added.
The award was presented to Obradović today, on the first day of the three-day Belgrade Security Conference.
