Kosovo police announced that one person of Serbian nationality was arrested on suspicion of having committed the crime of "war crime against the civilian population".
According to the announcement, the person arrested under the initials SN is from the territory of the municipality of Vučitrn.
The suspect was arrested on November 18 in Jarinje in the north of Kosovo for allegedly committing a war crime in the period 1998-1999. in the territory of the municipality of Vučitrn.
The details of the committed war crime have not been specified.
Since the end of the war in Kosovo, around 70 people have been convicted of war crimes before domestic and international institutions.
From 2000 to 2008, war crimes in Kosovo were investigated by the United Nations Mission (UNMIK), while from 2008, the European Union Rule of Law Mission (EULEX) was responsible for war crimes investigations.
In 2018, this mission submitted documents to the Kosovo Prosecutor's Office and local courts.
