The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina rejected the appeal of the defense of the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik to move the trial against him from Sarajevo to the court in Banja Luka.
Dodik's lawyer, Goran Bubić, told the Sarajevo portal "Raport" that he received the decision of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina by fax.
"The proposal was rejected on December 5, this was a response to our appeal against that decision. We received the decision by fax today," said Bubić.
He added that he is waiting for the decision of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina on other objections of Dodik's defense, which practically refer to the exclusion of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the process against him.
"It is a potentially vindictive atmosphere in the Court due to the numerous statements of President Dodik about the unconstitutionality of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the request for the abolition of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina," believes Bubić.
A trial is being conducted against Dodik and the acting director of the Official Gazette of the RS, Miloš Lukić, before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina due to non-implementation of the decisions of the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kristijan Šmit.
