The Albanian parliament suffered a hacker attack

The Albanian Parliament announced today that it suffered a cyber attack by which hackers tried to delete its data, which temporarily halted its work.

The parliament statement states that yesterday's cyber attack did not "open the system's data", and that experts are working to find out what the consequences of the attack could be.

Local media reported that a mobile phone provider and an airline were also targeted in a cyber attack by Iranian hackers, calling themselves Homeland Justice.

Albania also suffered a cyber attack in July 2022, for which the government and multinational technology companies blamed the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The attack prompted the Albanian government to cut diplomatic ties with Iran two months later. Iran's Foreign Ministry denied that Tehran was behind the attack on the Albanian government's websites.
