The government of North Macedonia decided today to extend the validity of decisions on freezing the prices of basic food products, bottled water, juices and beer until the end of January 2024.
As stated in the announcement of the government of Dimitar Kovačevski, the price limit of several food products in the retail trade, valid until December 31 of this year, is extended until January 31 of the following year.
It is about white rice, wheat flour - type 400 and 500, white and semi-white bread and certain bakery products, certain types of biscuits, wafers, pasta, meat and meat products, yogurt and dairy products and fresh chicken eggs.
By the decision of the Government of North Macedonia until January 31, instead of until December 31, the prices of mineral still and carbonated water, certain types of carbonated and carbonated drinks and beer remain frozen.
"Today's decision is in the interest of consumers due to the upcoming New Year and Christmas holidays," the announcement reads.
On September 19, the government of North Macedonia decided that 50 products in 24 categories of the bakery, dairy and meat industries should be cheaper by at least 10 percent compared to the price they had on August 1 and that they must be sold at that price, and a few days later the list are added light beer, still water and juices.
On October 27, he extended the validity of those decisions on lowering and freezing the prices of certain food products and beverages until the end of this year.
