United Media, the leading media company in Southeast Europe, will soon launch a new weekly paper on the Serbian market, in which the entire editorial staff of the previous weekly NIN will continue its operations.
"We believe that a space has opened up on the media scene for a new weekly that will inherit the highest standards of independent and professional work, and that will be edited and written for by top professionals who have carefully built and guarded their integrity over the past decades. The current editorial staff of NIN together with Vesna Mališić and Milan Ćulibrka will be part of the new weekly edition that will soon be in front of readers all over the country. The editorial concept that they have nurtured so far fully agrees with United Media's business policy and it will not change in the future either." , the announcement states.
"Despite the appearance of the richness of the media scene and wide choice, we are witnessing that media freedom is at an extremely low level and that citizens have limited access to the truth. Being professional is a particularly big challenge nowadays. Through the work of our media, we have always been dedicated to professional, objective, unbiased and independent journalism, and I am deeply convinced that this will be the case with the new weekly as well," said the executive director of United Media, Aleksandra Subotić.
She added that with today's move, the previous editorial staff of NIN showed that they take their professional role seriously, because they do not want to compromise with the truth, with the facts.
The media N1, Nova, Danas, Sport Klub operate within United Media in Serbia, and the public will be informed about all the details of the launch of the new weekly, as they state.
