Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić will participate in the American-Adriatic Charter meeting in Podgorica on Wednesday, August 2, where she will have a bilateral meeting with US Vice President Mike Pence.

Brnabić's participation in the meeting will be an opportunity to discuss issues of common interest and to exchange opinions on how to further improve regional, European and global stability, announced the Prime Minister of Serbia's office.

The Prime Minister of Serbia will also emphasize "Serbia's consistent commitment to preserving regional peace and stability, as well as that all open issues with neighbors are resolved through dialogue and the search for compromise solutions."

Sustained stability, reconciliation, implementation of reform processes and strengthening of mutual connections are key prerequisites for economic recovery and development and reaching European standards, according to the announcement.

The American-Adriatic Charter, i.e. the Partnership Charter between the USA and Albania, Croatia, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro (A5), is a cooperation program established on May 2, 2003.

Its main goal is to strengthen regional security and safety, with the support of the US to the countries of the region that strive to meet the standards for admission to NATO.

Serbia has observer status within the American-Adriatic Charter since December 2008, and is not a member due to its policy of military neutrality.

The charter contains 36 points specifying the principles of partnership, as well as the general framework of democratic reforms, protection of human rights, regional security and new American-Adriatic relations, and this year it is chaired by Macedonia.
