Vučić and Si signed the Joint Declaration of the two countries on partnership and building the community of Serbia and China

The Presidents of Serbia and China, Aleksandar Vućić and Xi Jinping, signed today in Belgrade the Joint Declaration of the two countries on deepening and raising the comprehensive strategic partnership and building the community of Serbia and China with a common future in the new era.

The Chinese president is on a two-day visit to Belgrade, and today, after the reception in front of the "Serbia" Palace, he had a meeting with Vučić.

Xi said today that China and Serbia will "jointly oppose hegemony and power politics" and jointly advocate for fair access and justice and work together to build a "global community with a common future", reports Beta.

After signing the Joint Statement, the Chinese President pointed out that the political trust between Beijing and Belgrade is "as strong as a rock".

He pointed out that Serbia, when he visited it eight years ago, became China's first European strategic partner, and that during his visit today it becomes "the first country that participates in building a community with a common future".

"A total of six practical steps are needed in building a community with a common future: the free trade agreement between Serbia and China, which will soon enter into force, then the fact that China supports the Serbian EXPO 27 and sends a delegation," the Chinese president stated the first two.

The third step is the import of more products from Serbia, which has already been agreed for prunes and blueberries, the fourth is support for 50 young scientists to participate in research in Beijing for three years, with an invitation for 300 young people from Serbia to study in China for three years.

"As a last step, China welcomes the opening of a direct flight from Belgrade to Shanghai and calls for more such initiatives," said Xi.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said today that no one will be able to break the steely friendship between Serbia and China.

"President Jinping told me that Serbia will have firm support in all issues that are raised in the United Nations," Vućić relayed the words of the Chinese president, during a joint address at the Palace of Serbia.

Vučić stated that Serbia suffers great pressure from some of the most powerful countries, but that it is lucky to have China as a friend, noting that the one-China policy applies to Serbia.

He also stated that China has always stood by Serbia when it was in trouble, as well as that Serbia, no matter how small it is, will stand by China when it is in trouble, even if others turn their backs on it.

Speaking about the good relations between the two countries, Vučić said that China "opened a window of hope for Serbia", mentioning, among other things, economic cooperation.

After the meeting of the delegations of the two countries, the representatives of Serbia and China signed several documents on strategic cooperation in the "Serbia" Palace.
