The Minister of Internal Affairs of Serbia, Ivica Dacic, said today that another person was arrested in Belgrade on suspicion of terrorist association, following the wounding of members of the Gendarmerie in front of the Israeli Embassy in Belgrade.
"Another person was arrested in Belgrade on suspicion of terrorist association. This is Igor Despotović from Belgrade, born in 1999, who was already arrested two years ago for being the administrator of several militant groups on the Internet that called for jihad. ", said Dacic in the announcement.
According to him, the proceedings against Despotović are still ongoing, and he has been released from custody.
"After that, he continued communicating with extremists, so that he had daily communication with the murdered terrorist Žujović, which is why it is suspected that he directly participated in the logistical support and organization of this terrorist act. The police action continues in several locations in Serbia," he said. is Dacic.
A member of the Gendarmerie was seriously injured today in front of the Israeli embassy in Belgrade, when he was attacked with a crossbow by a man from Mladenov (25), whom the MUP says is a convert from Christianity to Islam, who was killed in that attack.
