Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said this morning that the red security alert in that country will most likely be in effect until Tuesday.
"I think we will resolve everything by Tuesday and everything will be fine by then," Vučić said in a guest appearance on TV Prva.
He gave additional details about yesterday's attack on the Israeli embassy and its security, saying that the attacker was extremely well trained and that he shot the arrow while holding a crossbow in his bag, so that the attack was completely unexpected.
Vučić assessed that the attack was premeditated, but that the attacker did not expect the gendarme to retaliate.
"Congratulations to the gendarme for his composure and courage. He acted according to the rules of the service and killed the villain," Vučić said, adding that the member of the MUP will be decorated.
Gendarmerie member Miloš Jevremović (34) was wounded yesterday in an attack in front of the Israeli embassy in Belgrade, when he was hit in the neck with a crossbow.
He shot the assailant, who died.
