Marko Rošić, one of the four convicted for the murder of Serbian politician Oliver Ivanović in Kosovo, escaped.
The news was confirmed for Radio Free Europe by the Deputy Director of the Kosovo Police for the Northern Region, Veton Eljšani.
Eljšani said that the police accepted the decision to detain Rošić on June 28 and have been looking for him ever since.
On the same day, the Basic Court in Pristina announced the verdict in the case of Ivanović's murder.
Rošić, Nedeljko Spasojević, Dragiša Marković and Žarko Jovanović were sentenced to a total of 22 years and six months in prison, while Silvana Arsović was acquitted.
None of the accused was in court when the verdict was pronounced.
Rošić, a citizen of North Mitrovica, was sentenced to ten years in prison for the crime of participating in an organized criminal group that organized a murder and a fine of 10.000 euros.
Oliver Ivanovic was killed on January 16, 2018, with six shots in the back, in front of his party premises in North Mitrovica, in the north of Kosovo.
