Prime Minister of Kosovo Aljbin Kurti today called on the citizens of Kosovo not to glorify Faton Hajrizi, the suspect in the murder of a policeman in Serbia.
"I urge the citizens of our country not to fall for the euphoria of the heroization and romanticization of Faton Hajrizi," said Kurti at today's session of the Government of Kosovo.
Kurti asked to shed light on the circumstances, from Hajrizi's escape to Serbia to his murder, and added that such a thing requires a local and international investigation.
In the last few days, posts about Hajrizi have been shared on social networks along with his photos, which are accompanied by expressions like "hero" and "brave".
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of Kosovo confirmed that Serbian authorities killed Faton Hajrizi on July 19.
On July 18, according to Serbian authorities, he killed one Serbian policeman and wounded another in Loznica.
Previously, on July 7, Hajrizi escaped from prison in Kosovo for the ninth time.
