The US Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina again criticized the president of the Republika Srpska entity, Milorad Dodik, this time because local communities under the control of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD), and under his pressure, were losing the benefits of this embassy's program.
As stated in the new announcement, the USA has invested large amounts of money in the local community in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
"The United States of America strongly supports local government in BiH. That is why we are investing 14,1 million dollars to help municipalities throughout BiH improve the quality of services they provide to their citizens and to generate investments and jobs using the strength of the BiH diaspora. So far, the 'Diaspora Invest' generated 69 million dollars of investments and created more than 2.800 jobs throughout BiH. All municipalities in BiH are qualified to participate in our investment and local government programs, and currently 30 municipalities from the FBiH and 10 municipalities from the RS are participating. in the announcement of the US Embassy.
As they further state, there should have been municipalities under the control of the SNSD, but Dodik was against it, reports Klix.ba.
"Many municipalities led by the SNSD applied and were selected to participate in these programs, but Milorad Dodik pressured them to withdraw, so now their communities are missing out on the benefits - jobs, improved infrastructure, investments and much more - that these programs provide throughout country. Why is Mr. Dodik more interested in enriching himself and his family than in enriching local communities and improving the quality of life in municipalities," asked the US Embassy.
Although all posts ended with the hashtag 'Where is the money?' (where the money is, English), this time they sent a slightly different message.
"We know where the money is," it was written at the end of the announcement by the US Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
