Nana Ajka Lokmić, who was the oldest resident of Bosnia and Herzegovina, died in Sarajevo on Saturday at the age of 111.
She lived in a house about 150 years old in Sumbuluša, in the Municipality of Stari Grad. She was one of 12 centenarians in the area of this Sarajevo municipality. She was born in 1914 in Bosanski Šamac, and as a child she was orphaned and came to live with her relatives in Sarajevo.
As she said during her lifetime, writes Klix.ba, her motto was to leave nothing for tomorrow, if it can be done today. She never slept during the day, but raised children, cleaned the house and planted the garden.
