Serbian actor Sergej Trifunović, who was arrested last night at the entrance to Croatia, pleaded not guilty at the court in Split. Trifunović's passport was confiscated, and the trial continues on Wednesday at noon.
The municipal misdemeanor court in Split confiscated the passport of Trifunović, who was arrested around midnight at the Bajakovo border crossing while crossing from Serbia to Croatia.
A hearing was held in court, and the passport was confiscated "as a precautionary measure", writes Slobodna Dalmacija.
Trifunović said in court that he does not feel guilty for what he is charged with, that is, for an offense against public order and peace.
The police asked the court for a 30-day prison sentence and a 1.000 euro fine for the actor, reports N1.
The subject of the research is a post on a social network from September 10 last year.
"He published a text with inappropriate content, which at the same time rudely disparaged the police and police officers, stating that the Split policemen extorted over a thousand euros," the Split-Dalmatin Police Department stated.
The Split daily reminds that a year ago Trifunović was arrested and fined in Split after he was reported by citizens on Split's Kaštelet beach, because he kept his dog Milet unsupervised, which, as stated at the time, disturbed those present.
He was then fined 500 euros and 50 euros in court costs, and a few hours later, according to the police, he kept the same dog in Bosanska street without supervision and without a leash, so he was fined another 200 euros.
Trifunović was banned from entering Croatia and the countries of the European Economic Area for one year, and when he went with his wife to visit her family in Rijeka today, he was stopped at Bajakova and brought to Split.
His wife returned to Serbia.
