The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Aljbin Kurti, stated that he accepted the formation of the Union of Serbian Municipalities (USO), but on the condition that all obligations assumed by the Agreement on normalization of relations with Serbia and the Ohrid annex, including mutual recognition, are fulfilled.
He said in the Al Jazeera television documentary "Kosovo: The Creation of a State" that he "inherited" the formation of the ZSO from the previous governments of Kosovo and that the community is now "part of the basic agreement".
"Article 7 says that the Serbian community must have self-government. On the other hand, Article 10 says that all previously signed agreements must be implemented. So I do not deny that. However, only as part of the package of normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia with mutual recognition," he said. is Kurti, as reported by the Pristina media.
He said that one cannot take only one agreement and put it before the basic one because, as he said, it is not a buffet.
"As a package, I said 'yes' to the ZSO," said the Kosovo Prime Minister.
Kurti added that he is not only the prime minister of the Kosovo Albanians and assessed that there is "positive discrimination" towards the Serbs in Kosovo in terms of their rights.
"We have 93 percent of the Albanian population, but I am not only the prime minister of Albanians. We have four percent of Serbs and three percent of other minorities," said Kurti.
