Expanded indictment against the parents of a minor suspected of murders in "Ribnikar"

The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade announced today that they submitted to the High Court in Belgrade an extension of the indictment against Vladimir and Miljana Kecmanović, due to the suspicion that they committed a criminal offense - neglect and abuse of a minor.

In question are the parents of the minor KK who was accused of mass murder in the Belgrade school "Vladislav Ribnikar".

The chief public prosecutor of the VJT in Belgrade, Nenad Stefanović, specifies that the extension of the indictment came after the collection of all relevant evidence during the criminal proceedings against the defendants, which is currently in the main trial stage before the High Court in Belgrade, against Vladimir Kecmanović for the criminal offense - a serious offense against of general security, and against Miljana Kecmanović for the criminal offense of illegal production, possession, carrying and trafficking of weapons and explosive substances.

Stefanović pointed out that there is a reasonable suspicion that in the period from April 30, 2022 to May 3, 2023, they neglected their duty of education and abandoned their minor child, who on May 3, 2023, took the life of a worker with a firearm. security at "Vladislav Ribnikar" Elementary School and nine students of that school, as well as because it seriously injured the history teacher and five other students, reports N1.

"Due to the phase of the proceedings in which the public is excluded by the decision of the High Court in Belgrade, I cannot present the details of the extension of the indictment, but I indicate that it was the incriminated behavior of the parents that resulted in this unprecedented, tragic event on May 3, 2023, in the elementary school 'Vladisav Ribnikar' Stefanović concluded.
