The regional news platform N1 is celebrating 10 years of existence today, and thanks to the dedicated work of people in front of and behind the cameras, it has become a symbol of free and independent journalism and integrity, it was announced from the company United Media (UM), which includes the media N1, Nova, Danas, Radar. .
"Through a decade of challenges and changes, N1 has remained consistent with its core values – professionalism, responsibility and truth. Our mission has always been clear – to be the voice of the public and provide a platform for accurate and timely information and analysis that enable citizens to make informed decisions. Our "teams of journalists and editors in Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenia make enormous efforts every day in order to preserve independence and ensure the credibility of the news," the UM press release points out.
UM Director Aleksandra Subotić pointed out that it is difficult to imagine media, social and public space in these three countries without the values of free, independent and investigative journalism that N1 has established and nurtured all these years.
"The results they have achieved motivate and from United Media as an umbrella company they will always have the support to be the voice of the people, to continue working as before, providing accurate and credible information, even in the most difficult circumstances. Despite the frequent attacks not only on N1 but to the free media, they will always have our support to be a bastion of truth in the time when it is most needed," Subotić said.
N1 editorial board advisor and former prominent BBC journalist Peter Horrocks said that over the past 10 years, N1 has led the way in creating brave, truthful and inspiring journalism.

UM said that the decade of trust that N1 has built with its viewers and readers is not only an achievement - but also an obligation.
"Ten years of N1 is not just an ordinary jubilee of a media company. Everyone who follows our program and reads the news on our portal knows that our journalists are there to deal with topics that are important to their lives. We have always been on the spot when important things happen events, when someone has been wronged, when someone has a problem that the institutions are silent about of responsible journalism. Today, when we look back on the past decade, we are proud of the public's trust, but we are aware that new big challenges await us. The time of populism, lies and spin makes our job far more complicated. This anniversary is a reminder that, together with to our viewers and employees, we can overcome any obstacle, and that truth and free speech are values that we must always defend. We are looking at history that we have followed for ten years, reporting on things and events that we could not even imagine. Pandemic, earthquakes, wars, migration, climate change , natural disasters, hard cohabitation, election campaigns, sports successes, these are the stories that made us rejoice and cry. Ten years ago, we were greeted with many questions and challenges. The audience in Bosnia and Herzegovina recognized, at an early stage, the quality, importance and competitive advantage of N1 on the media scene, and the number of television viewers and visits to the N1 portal has only grown over the years to the top of the most popular media in Bosnia and Herzegovina, we are particularly pleased, but also obliged, by the trust that the public has in N1, which was also proven by the Ipsos survey, which showed that N1 is the media that people in the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina trust the most a decade in places where news is created - always, everywhere and live. UM states that by celebrating its birthday, N1 is making a promise to its viewers and readers that it will continue to stand on the sidelines of free journalism in the future.
