Two people were killed and two more injured in a shooting in the suburbs of Shkodër, writes the Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) portal.
The special police immediately blocked the entire area, and the target of the attack was Hamza Lici, one of the members of the local mafia clan.
RTS states that a total of 20 people died in the six-year-long war between the two clans.
A so far unknown assailant hit the car in which Hamza Lici and Arlind Bushati, the sons of former officials of the opposition Democratic Party, were driving with a Kalashnikov burst on the approach to Shkodër.
Lici died immediately, while the seriously injured Bušati was transferred to the Skadar hospital.
The confrontation between rival clans in Shkodër, according to Albanian media, took on a tragic dimension, as the car in which the targets of the attack were located lost control and hit a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction, according to RTS.
The woman who was riding the motorcycle died, while the doctors are fighting for the driver's life.
Several units of the Albanian special police set up checkpoints in several places in the city in an attempt to catch the attackers.
Hamza Lici is the 20th victim of the confrontation between Skadar's rival Lici and Biljaljaj clans since 2018, writes RTS.
The series of confrontations began at the beginning of 2018, when one person was killed and eight were wounded in the explosion of a bomb planted in Ljujzim Kula's car, and six months later the police found the body of car mechanic Mehdi Kavaja.
By the end of that year, eight more people had been killed.
