More than 1.000 citizens silently paid their respects to the victims of yesterday's accident, which occurred when the canopy at the railway station in Novi Sad collapsed, killing 14 people and seriously injuring three others.
The gathering of citizens and the blockade of the intersection near the train station in Novi Sad ended shortly after 18.30:XNUMX p.m.
The gathered citizens spontaneously blocked the intersection near the railway station and stopped traffic.
Although several police patrols were present, no one reacted.
No one even spoke to those gathered, and the citizens, in the place where they had lit candles since last night, held sheets of paper with the names and dates of the victims printed on them.
After an hour and a half, most of the citizens dispersed, but about a hundred of them remained near the railway station, and the traffic was normalized.
The opposition called for today's gathering to honor the victims, however, none of the representatives of the opposition parties addressed the gathering.
However, they told the media that followed the meeting that they agreed on the position that "they blame the Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Goran Vesić, for the tragedy and that if he does not resign for moral reasons, they will demand it".
