A protest in front of the Serbian Government building in the center of Belgrade was held today and ended with the statement that from Tuesday Novi Sad will command Serbia. Namely, in that city, a large protest is scheduled for Tuesday due to the death of 14 people in the demolition of the roof of the newly renovated Railway Station.

Activists shouted in front of the Serbian Government building - "resignation", "treason", "prisoner", "aw, aw", waiting for Nikola Ristić, from the SviĆa group, who addressed them after he was released from detention.

He was taken away by the police today, ahead of the protest in front of the old building of the railway station, scheduled because of the tragedy in Novi Sad.

In front of the entrance to the building, where a large number of police officers were stationed, as well as on the building itself, activists leave handprints in red, as a symbolic indication of the authorities' responsibility for the tragedy.

Ristić said that the focus should not be on his arrest, due to the announcement calling for today's protest, but on the demand for resignations due to the tragedy in Novi Sad.

"Novi Sad is the point from where it must burst, there is enough blood. A message to the authorities, if you erase this red mark (with paint), there will be more. We will leave it on every corner of the cities so that the authorities cannot deny their responsibility," said Ristić.

He emphasized that since Tuesday, Novi Sad is in command of Serbia.

After gathering in front of the Government building, the activists were invited to head towards the Old Sava bridge, where citizens have been trying to protect it from demolition for several days and nights.
